So, the past seven months have been quite eventful. After a baby and a complication post-partum, I am still trying to get back to running. I get quite discouraged actually. It is as if, things aren't the way it was anymore.
Weight wise, I am back to pre-pregnant weight. Let's not talk about tone. But I understand that all these take time and discipline. I have been trying to run, but every time, I ended up feeling sore for a week or more - and it isn't sore where running muscles were used. Usually it hurts in the vicinity of the above-mentioned complication. In Orlando, we walked quite a bit while doing Disney and a little shopping after. And I could feel some pain after.
I am deciding what to do and figuring out what is wrong.
The doctors didn't give me a specific diagnosis as to the root of the complication. I am thinking they didn't know, since it was quite unusual, and the usual causes of the complication didn't quite fit my situation.
So here I am, still trying to run. Still trying to figure out what is wrong. Still trying to figure out how to fix the problem. And still holding on to the dream that I will run another half marathon before too long.
Man, do you know how much I have missed just running long long distance.
Lace it up and run
And you are invited to make a loop around my mind.

Fun Times
Last week, Baby Jack and I flew to Orlando to meet up with my best friend from Singapore.
Our navigator. A portion of the map did ended up in his mouth.
We stayed at Villas of Grand Cypress and it is absolutely beautiful.
Then we drove south to Miami Beach.
Baby carrier is a MUST when traveling.
Love this!
A great trip for all of us.
Baby Jack is missing his vacation cos' he has been crying since we got back.

What's happening
I got a new phone and finally got Blogger app. Blogging via phone is way easier and less time consuming now.
It is the little things.
Ran 1 mile on the treadmill on Monday.
It feels like my insides are still slushing around. Weird.
Today, Baby Jack and I went for a walk today in the jogging stroller. I ran and walked. My oh my!
In other business....
The school year is winding down.
This is why I always wear black.
Filthy!
We also said goodbye to one of the best preschool teacher. She is the most awesomest!
Earlier this week, my baby's daddy picked some flowers for me one morning on his way home from work.
Life's good when I see this smiley face everyday.
Will update more.

I Heard The Tragedy, Now I ...
.... ran 2.62 miles in honor of Boston in one of my favorite race shirt.
Not the usual celebratory 2.62 miles I usually run on the day of the Boston Marathon. These were quiet miles. Miles ran with a heavy heart.
I still can't believe it happened.
Such things only happen in other countries.
Only happen at malls and movie theaters.
Not at a sporting event where people of all shapes, sizes, colors, nationalities convene.
Not to runners who are one of the most supportive, accepting folks around.
Not to good people like runners.
I ran with a heavy heart.
I pray to God, thanking him for watching over those who are not injured.
I pray to God, asking him to heal, physically and emotionally, those who are injured.
I pray to God, asking him to comfort families who lost their loves ones.
I pray to God, asking him to show us how to stop such evil, and prevent such tragedy.
I pray to God today.

Love-Hate Relationship
I did my Week 1 Run #2 this morning after I woke up to pump.
I figured I would only get to sleep for half an hour so, I put on my shoes and ran.
Watched Taylor Swift's Journey To Fearless on Netflix. Just a good mindless thing to watch.
Run #1 was 1.8 miles.
Run #2 was 1.7 miles. I also ramped up the running speed to 6 and 7.
I forgot how achy and sore running makes me.
It is a love-hate relationship.
Will report on Run #3 (I am going to get it in on Saturday).

All That Fun
I had the most wonderful Easter Sunday! Hope you did too!
After work on Good Friday, I took Baby Jack to dye some eggs with his cousins.
We all had fun.
A basket full of colorful eggs.
Baby Jack getting his 1st Easter Sunday on.
I did a lot of cooking over these past few days.
Love making rolls from scratch.
I. Love. Rolls.
Pan-fried chicken breasts
Supposed to be mozzarella chicken but I didn't have mozzarella.....
Monday. Today.
I tried to be good.
Downloaded Couch to 5K app.
Not too shabby.
So far so good.
Will chat again soon!
